Good to see Ricky Powers will be there....he's battled some personal issues for years, correct? Or do I have him mixed up with someone?

Either way, I'm very happy about all the alumni that are back this weekend. The state of the program right now, overall, is as good as I can ever remember, I'd say.

Is there a list of the 350 that are in town? We need star power from the likes of Tom Brady.

I would really like to see Tommy around the program more.

On that note, I did some digging and found this interesting article, with an interview with Aaron Shea.

Excerpt:

Shea said he heard the same thing from a friend last week, when he talked with a former teammate - New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady.

"I know how much Tom Brady loves Brady Hoke, and when I talked to him last week, he said we need to get this guy," said Shea, who said Brady then asked for the cell phone number of Brandon.

"So people sometimes say, 'We don't see Tommy around.' Let me tell you, make no mistake, Tom Brady loves Michigan. And you'll be hearing Tommy talk Michigan a lot more."

When I went to the Spring game two years ago, the biggest star they had for the alumni football game was Larry Foote. The Steelers told him he wasn't allowed to play in the game for fear of risking injury. But it's flag football, how much damage can you do? Foote played in the game anyway.

Having Tom Brady in the game would be a treat. But I enjoyed watching the older alumni trash talk with each other.

And Shea is right. Tom Brady loves Michigan...

I remember about 10 years ago a first round running back for the Patriots out of Georgia blowing out his knee during an NFL sponsored flag football game and his career was over. I'll looK it up.

Found it, Edwards, but he did have knee problems in college too.

Yea, I would not expect Brady to play in it. Even in Flag Football you can get seriously injured. Hell some guys have been seriously injured making dinner in their kitchen. Forgot who it was but I think it was a baseball player.
