All Big Ten teams named

Glad to see Taylor Lewan as a 1st teamer on both coaches and media lists. Also glad to see Craig Roh and Jordan Kovacs on the coaches 2nd team. Well deserved.

Now for the puzzling items. Jake Ryan is not a first teamer on either list. OK, but he's a fricking honorable mention on the coaches poll? Get a clue boys.

Patrick Omameh 1st team on coaches poll? Strike two for the coaches. I think he was average at best this year. Just my opinion.

Then there's the MSU picks that appear to be based mainly on hype. Johnny Adams as a 1st teamer, again coaches. Bell on 1st team of both lists. I thought Venric Mark was much better than him, but didn't get the ball quite as much. That ones not so bad. Not sure Ghoulston should have been a 2nd teamer either. I thought he had a very disappointing year.

Finally, I thought Demens should have been honorable mention, major oversight, IMO.

The coaches selections, across the board basically, we're terrible.

Just tweeted by Rittenberg/Bennett (the ESPN bloggers):

"Did these All-Big Ten selections really happen, or was it a bad dream. In five years of blogging, never seen so many misses."

I also saw a tweet yesterday, I think from Ace over at MGoBlog (not the jackass Ace), that read something like;

"After seeing the coaches selections for All-Conference, the play we saw all year throughout the Big Ten starts to make sense."

(Not exact quote, but along those lines)

They're still getting ripped apart.

I guess we shouldn't be surprised with guys like Hope, Kill and Beckman voting. No better at voting than they are at coaching. Still a shame though, those kids who have performed should be rewarded. Can't help but wonder what Omameh is thinking though..........did they really vote me first team?
