OT: Watching the Army/Navy game and it occurred to me

The military academies should drop to 1AA. I know, Air Force gave UM a good game this year, but more often than not the academies are just not competitive in 1A. I think they should, because they would definitely be able to compete for championships at that level. Heck, their linemen are 260 pounds.

i get your point fish but in all fairness military standards have not evolved with college football and I'm ok with that so I don't mind seeing them play DivI teams.Besides, Look at some of the teams some of the big time programs like Bama, wicsonsin, etc play. Hell we played App St and we all are still trying to forget how that turned out.

They can never really compete because of military standards. I get it. I spent 20 years in the Marinr Corps, there are height/weight standards, although I saw some lax standards from some sailors. But these guys are going to be officers, they can't be outside of the required standards, and because of that, they should drop downin class and possibly dominate at the 1AA level.

My dad attended The Citadel, 1941-1943, then went to fight in the Pacific until end of war. When it looked like Army was driving for winning TD, I'm sure he was getting ready to open a strohs beer ( up in heaven) to celebrate an Army win, but I guess it wasn't meant to be. Something tells me he still had a beer or 2 anyway.
