The announcers of last night's game were interesting, to say the least. "Herbie" seems pretty good and I have no real complaint or serious objection to his work as the color commentator. But Musburger is something else. It always sounds as if he is describing a game of NFL farmhands. He continually (not just last night) is comparing players, schemes, coaches, etc. to NFL standards and rarely sees the participants as "amateurs" competing for good ol' alma mater.
However, it was great to see ND get a good old fashioned big time ass-kicking. Those arrogant, pompous Golden Domers had their lunch handed to them. However, they look like they may be tough next year. Let's hope the Blue and Brady and staff are just as tough (or more).
The ND campus is only about 30 miles from here. For the last month is has been non-stop "we're #1" BS every single day. It was poetic justice the see the headline of today's South Bend Tribune: "CRUSHING" in two inch letters. The next line down reads: "ND season ends in heartbreak". Theere are a lot of people in South Bend and throughout the country except SEC nation eating crow today. ND was so damn lucky to be undefeated and in the BCS final game. No way were they ever the #1 team in college football at any time this season. I think they are not even in the top 10 now.
