| Whether Cam new anything about it is debatable but Cecil Newton got paid when Cam went to Auburn. You'll never convince me otherwise. Too much smoke for there not to be fire. _________________ Sometimes people standing on third base think they hit a triple, but they didn't - Jim Harbaugh

| It seems Auburn has had so much dirt exposed over the years, but they always seem to come out unscathed. They are the teflon don of the SEC.
The Cam Newton bag man swore he was going to give names, but he never did. paid off or threatened? amnesia?

Also, there were a dozen or so of Cam's teammates that allegedly had huge checking accounts with a bank that was being investigated by the feds. Nothing came of that though, so I can't assume they are guilty. Casino cards with huge amounts of credit were also involved. I'm not surprised at any of this though. The players should just admit it now instead of back peddling on this reporter.

I'm not surprised at any of this though. The players should just admit it now instead of back peddling on this reporter. I never heard about the checking account, only about the unnamed\unmarked ATM cards that the players had access to issued from Colonial Bank (the bank Bobby Lowder controlled). Maybe we're talking about the same thing though. Also, I read about the guaranteed winning slot machines at the casino that Milton McGregor (Auburn booster) owned that players used to frequent but not the high credit casino cards... unbelievable but why am I surprised? The one thing that gets me is that the FBI proved that Milton McGregor funneled approximately $250K to Cam's uncle but the NCAA couldn't or rather didn't want to prove any of that money went to Cam's dad Cecil even after he admitted he shopped his son to the highest bidder. They did however enact the Cecil Newton rule 14 months later. Nice job NCAA. Cecil's church was in the process of being condemned by the city and shutdown unless they could make the necessary changes to bring it up to code (estimated $80K worth). Those changes were first going to be done pro bono but the contractor backed out because of the economy. Meantime Cam wants to sign with MSU but lets his dad Cecil make the decision, next thing you know he's at Auburn and Cecil tells the city his church will be up to code within six months. You draw the conclusions. Also, Cecil's trucking company is able to "expand" with new trucks and equipment within months of Cam signing with Auburn. Doesn't pass the smell test... "I wanted to go to Mississippi State but the money was too much" - Cam Newton to unnamed MSU recruiter after committing to Auburn _________________ Sometimes people standing on third base think they hit a triple, but they didn't - Jim Harbaugh

I guess it depends on how gullible they want to believe we are. I have always felt that the NCAA was complicit in covering up Cam's illicit activity because they didn't want to lower the boom on the obvious Heisman choice and QB of one of the teams that was headed to the National Championship game. I vividly recall that the investigation was going on midseason, and you had TCU looming all year as the number 3 BCS team. There's no way they were going to allow a national championship game involving TCU if they could avoid it. I can easily picture a meeting of NCAA bigwigs: It looks like Cam is ineligible, but we can't have that, he's going to win the Heisman and we've gotta have Auburn in the national championship game. Ok, how about this, we say his Dad solicited money for Cam to play, but Cam didn't know a thing about it. Wait, nobody will believe that. Oh, who cares, we'll go with that. This may be a conspiracy theory but I don't really care. That thing stunk to high heaven when it was going on.

| I thought the move by the NCAA telling Cecil Newton he couldn't go to the Heisman presentation was funny but I thought seeing Cam's dad trying to hide in the crowd during the NC game as if not to get caught by the NCAA was even funnier. Thank god the cameras found him and I got to see that. It made the game worth watching. _________________ Sometimes people standing on third base think they hit a triple, but they didn't - Jim Harbaugh
