It's not a dream. Slap and pinch yourself all you want, Hand is a legit reality. If he makes to the BBQ it's a done deal IMO. We know he's going to be at the UTL game too.

In related knews I was told last week that I could get a pair of UTL II tickets at face. I hope the old man isn't blowing smoke us my ass. We shall see.

I will be at the UTL game as well. Works in my favor that my gf is in her 3rd year of med school at Michigan which means she wont be able to use most of her tickets including the ND game, which I now can use for "free"

Even if I end up getting screwed out of tickets, I only live ten minutes from The Big House so a beer is doable. Let's plan on it...

I have to go back to paying for tickets to go to games . As if having to drive down from the U.P. wasn't costly enough.

Where in the UP are you from hail?

Originally from the West end (near the famous Hurley, WI). I live in Marquette now. It is literally the only city in the U.P I could live in.

I was in Hurley/Ironwood in 1972 and again last summer. Interesting contrast between the two towns, like day and night. I would think Hurley is a bit livelier.

2 summers ago my wife and I did work up there for 10 days. Check this trip out.

St Ignace to DeTour and Drummond Island. Zigzagged through towns to The Soo. Over to Newbury. Marquette, Negaunee and Isheming to L'Anse. Zigzagged down to Escanaba. To Marionette and back to Escanaba. Over to Iron Mountain up to Iron River, to Ironwood and back to iron mountain. To Gladstone and Rapid River and down to Stonington. Were told by people there that if we were going down into Garden on the next peninsula to watch out for marijuana growers! (we TRIED!!! lol)  Back up to Manistique and back to St Ignace.

If you're from the UP or know the UP you understand. If you're not, it was about 1600 miles in 10 days. This doesn't count 200 from St Ignace to EL. x2. Whew.

That's a long trip for you to come down Hail. How many do you make in a year?

Good ole' Drummond Island, my family has gone up there around the 4th of July to fish herring since the early 40's.  My senior year we got whooped on in the semis by Menominee at the Superior Dome, so Marquette is not my favorite place haha

It's all the same people. Everyone knows everyone. But yeah, we always start our nights off at a Michigan bar and then head up and get drunk in Hurley before making out way down the block to look at C-list strippers.

Ok, which town in Michigan has more bars per capita than Bay City?  I know that there is one, the joke always that some town up in the UP with 4 people opened up its second bar....

What is bay cities population / bars?

I don't have an exact number but you cannot go more than a block in Bay City without running into either a bar or a church.
