Not to denigrate our big win at Kohl---

But friends, if that was the 3rd-best team in the country we beat, then Elvis (yes, that one) is alive and well and catching TD bombs from namesake Grbac at the Big House...

I saw only the end of the first half and all of the second, but saw enough to form a bloke's evaluation of the Bad-gers. They aren't fast. They aren't athletic. They're certainly no better shooting the ball than our men---if as good. And they also lack the one element with which most slow teams compensate: a big, physical inside presence.

It was an "upset" only because of our record at Kohl this century. Certainly not due to any talent shortfall on our end...nor superior coaching on theirs. (Man, I become prouder and prouder to share the same birth country---Western NY---as our offensive genius of a coach!!!)

Mike, You're right that is not what Wisconsin has been. I also watched the replay of their game with Indiana and the defense is just not vintage Wisconsin. Still a lot of good teams have walked out of that arena with a loss over a long period of time.

Agree, no way they are even top-10, but they are top-25, in my opinion. They do have an incredibly efficient offense. As great as our offense was in that game, they did almost come back and beat us. Our basketball program is certainly doing it's part to pick up the slack of the football program though.

A lot of us on this board had actually said a few times we felt that UW was overrated. They are no doubt a top 25 team and they do have a very impressive home record under Ryan so I'm not going to take anything away from our team on this win.

1. No way in heck is Wisconsin a top 5 team.
2. No way in heck Wisconsin is a non top 25 team.
3. The Kohl Center is possibly the most difficult Big Ten venue to play at.
4. Every win on the road in conference is big.
5. Wisconsin is still #3 in RPI and a win @ RPI #3 looks great to tournament seeders.
