Today he talked about what is different about the Michigan Stadium football experience and how it can impact attendance at games. Worth a listen. He focused on Brandon commercialism. Part of it, for me, is that in the past few years, beginning with RR I think, the stadium experience is not as pure as I recall. One thing i HATE is the music and other sound nonsense during warm ups and games, and the other crap coming from the loudspeakers. It feels like the game is being presented by a couple of AM radio morning drive-time disc jockeys.

Well when the discussion came to students they had sent out a questionnaire to the students about what they wanted. They had to list 7 items 1-7.

The biggest thing they wanted was NO ASSIGNED SEATING.

He gave them that. and they complained and didn't show up.

IMHO it's a problem of the times. Kids now-a-days aren't interested in sitting in a stadium for 3 hours when they can play angry bird on their phones for 3 hours.

The world is changing. People are changing. Students are changing. I don't like most of it but I don't have a say.

Bacon was right on the majority of his comments.

So get rid of Brandon.

I love the music being pumped in. Things change.

My wife always says that when people hit 40 they take a fork in the road. Either becoming old curmudgeons and cursing change, or they adapt to change and enjoy new things. I think I'm a little in the center. I don't mind most change, but sometimes I long for the old days.

I don't mind the music. They need to do something to get peoples' asses off the tops of their hands.

As for ticket sales...let's face it: we're talking about a team that is barely over .500 since, what, 2007?

Comparing student ticket prices to every other B10 school, we're the most expensive. I think it's $50 more than Ohio State charges. At least those fuckers win ballgames, and have a decent couple of games on the slate this year.

I've never seen a more pathetic home slate than what we have this year. So bad that I've chosen not to purchase season tickets this year. I'll be up for the PSU and IU games, but doubt I'll make more than those two trips.
