I've been following this list by ESPN for the last few weeks.

http://www.mlive.com/wolverines/index.ssf/2014/06/michigans_john_beilein_ranks_n.html

I like that Beilein is being shown some love on a national level. I think he could have checked in around #6 or #7 had UM beat UK in the tourney this year.

I'm not gonna be the guy that says Beilein definitely IS better than Izzo because he's not. Izzo's total body of work speaks for itself. But the fact that Izzo will check in on this list above Beilein even though Beilein is 6-3 over the last four years against Izzo will irk me just a bit  Very Happy

One thing to note is that JB has handily outworked Izzo on the recruiting trail the last four years which is something I really like.

Player development speaks for itself. JB is on an entirely different level than Izzo at this point.

UM composite class rank (last 4 years)
2011 - 26
2012 - 7
2013 - 11
2014 - 28

MSU composite class rank (last 4 years)
2011 - 23
2012 - 12
2013 - 74
2014 - 50

With 5 players drafted in the NBA in the last 2 yrs, the success on court, like to think he moves up. I guess continued success he moves up.

I see Gregg Marshall from Witchita St at 8, Bo Ryan 7. That leaves Izzo, Coach K, Williams, Calipari, Pitino, & Self for final 6 spots.

Could argue JB over Marshall or Ryan. The overall body of work of the other 6 hard to argue.

I'm going Coach K-1st, Calipari-2nd, Pitino-3rd, Williams-4th, Izzo-5th, Self-6th.

Sandyeggo, what's your top 6?

Roy Williams was #16. The list is coaches now and not careers. I think the top 6 will go:

1. Calipari
2. Coach K
3. Pitino
4. Donovan
5. Self
6. Izzo

My bad, completely forgot about Donovan and I presumed Roy Williams would be a top 10 coach, didn't look close enough at the list. Can I use the excuse the real strong cough syrup I took temporarily affected my thinking?  Twisted Evil
