| Big fan here (based in part on reasons I've previously shared here). Did anyone see his young nephew tip his hat to the crowd last night? | |

| fish, Shoes, MGB--- I could not agree more strongly with all of you. Man, what professional sports would be like were there more men and women (but men, mainly) with Derek's personality, affability and overall attitude and genuineness with people.
And this from a veritable superstar, and HOF lock in five years, not just your 'average' everyday major leaguer.
I've long been a Yankee-hater (New York State nativity notwithstanding), but I've always been a sincere admirer of #2. (Yeah, ours, too).

| Jeter is a legend and a HOF...m seen him many times with my son in Toronto... yes my Meechigan fans we are big Yankee fans as well... great story about Jeter... there was a power outage at the dome and we were standing behind the dugout area with other fans, and who pops through the door but DJ, and he signed autographs for at least 20 minutes, no one else was seen from either team... got a nice autograph on a Yankee WS championship hat, that my son will treasure forever | |

That I would have to call a reach, Sandy. Fans of the Bambino or the Mick or of course Joltin' Joe would fight you on that one. Though, of course, BR and MM were anything but the off-the-field class acts DJ is and always has been. (And in both cases, their bouts with the bottle were the underlying causes of their less-than-role-model outward acts). Joe D, on the other hand, belongs with Derek off the field as well as on...

Thx...was just curious. I thought you might be a former poster from the now-decayed other forum, for a while there... But you are in Ontario, eh?
