Syracuse thoughts

just a few quick points I took away from the game


1. spike is our go-to-guy right now. Box score says 0 TOs but I thought he had one. Oh well, he had a great game either way.

2. Doyle is an unexpected bright spot down low but we're still in trouble there.

3. Our piss poor 3pt shooting to open the game kept Syr in it. Their TOs in the second gave us that win.

4. that is two blown leads down the stretch. the one against Villanova lost us the game. We got lucky in this one. we gotta fix that quick.

5. Not sure why UM didn't go right at McCullough after he came off the bench with 4 fouls and 6:30 to go. He really hurt us down the stretch and he should've fouled out by that point.

6. Again, this team doesn't quit.

I just don't think Max B is skilled enough to play at the highest level, he can't score if someone more athletic is guarding him and he gets abused on defense as with Christmas last night. Donnal at least has the chance to still be improving. Doyle is really good and has a chance to be a star.

'shoes

Watching Spike save our bacon last night, I was thinking how awesome that recruiting class was. McGary, Stauskas, GRIII, Levert and Spike. The only dud in the bunch was Colton Christian, but he was kind of a throw-in. Levert and Spike were supposed to be too, but here they are a few years later as key parts of the team.

Christian wasn't in that class. That class was something special, and the cool part is they cover every position.
