I Think if the NCAA would not have went Overboard on their suspension he would have stayed.

Probably. It just sucks that we only got to see him for such a brief period.

he should have never dressed for that game. He wasn't going to play anyway.
flip side, he should have followed the rules. I get it, he's in college, it's only weed, whatever. Can't complain too much about that but when you look at the big picture, he was being given an education in exchange for playing ball and following the rules.

Yeah, I do think he should have followed the rules. The NCAA was length of suspension for a 1st time weed offense was ridiculous, though. Every school in the country gives something like 10% of the season (3 games) in basketball for 1st time offenses. The NCAA gave a full year. They even realized how stupid that length was and quite quickly amended that rule to 6 months. McGary, though, was punished under the old rule that they were admitting to be to harsh of a punishment.
