DPJ looking good, but it's still way early. His Dad being a UM alumnus really helps as undoubtedly DPJ has been exposed to Michigan his entire life. Theoretically he wants to help bring Michigan back, and he can most certainly see how Coach Harbaugh has the program trending. On the negative side of things every major program in the country will be after him and the negative recruiting will be large. Question is does DPJ want to blaze his own trail or not? I'll make a guess, and that's all it is, A GUESS, that DPJ will verbal to Michigan before next season begins (no guarantees that he won't flip though).

I saw that. Unfortunately probably predicated on him committing to Michigan and not anything he physically did.

I think this is seen more in lower rated recruits that the sites don't get to see very often.

Perhaps but I don't think anyone has practiced or camped between the time he committed and now. So something cause him to rise one spot.

It was because Rivals has set times they adjust class rankings and they just readjusted the 2017 class. He jumped from the 100s (I believe) to 39 and that bumped his composite up on 247.

Wolverine Podcast. I'm just gonna set it here for now. I haven't listened to it yet. I had an unGodly busy day so I haven't had time to listen to it yet. I swear that I'm going to fall asleep on my keyboard.

As 'fish pointed out elsewhere, Joshua Ross committed to Michigan.

http://www.scout.com/player/180530-josh-ross?s=162

Ross' older brother played at Michigan (James Ross), the guy has size (6'2" 225), and he plays ILB. He's a 4-star prospect who played his HS ball at Orchard Lake Saint Mary's. In memory of old mlive days az must be fuming....

Stephen Carr visit.

http://www.maizenbrew.com/2016/3/25/11307478/nations-no-2-rb-set-to-visit-michigan-spring-game

Carr is committed to U$C but hasn't said much since committing. He has not taken any official visits elsewhere nor are any planned. The fact that he is coming to the Spring game bodes well for Michigan. Coach Harbaugh's rock-star status appears to be drawing interest from prospects, even prospects who are already committed. I guess Coach Harbaugh has a new type of snake oil? I'm glad that he is on our side.

DPJ drama? Nah, he's just taking his time (as he should). But of note he said that he wants to graduate early and therefore enroll early. IMHO Michigan has a large advantage here. The proximity, the fact that Michigan has had an established football program for decades (unlike sparty who established their program in 2010), and DPJ really talks Michigan up in his interview.

"Harbaugh is bringing in a lot of talent and a lot of professionalism. You can see the staff and the amount of staff members that they had coach in the League and being involved in the NFL. That's going to blow teams away. They're going to have an advantage."

Of course, the careful reader knows how I feel about these non-binding verbal "commitments", but 2017 keeps looking better and better. Even assuming we lose some of these guys when the actually do commit, JH is building a 'uuuuuge reservoir of talent.

I second that, and no that is not a play on a former name.  Just a happy accident.

Don't know much about this kid (Jonathan Sutherland) other than one of his high-school teammates (Luiji Vilain) is already committed to Michigan. Looks like a very solid player, but nothing exceptional. If I had to guess it would be down to Michigan and Penn State (With an outside shot of Boston College). The deciding factor would be Luiji Vilain already being a Wolverine. I have no inside info on this though.

It's been a while so I guess I should provide an update on where we stand. Granted recruiting isn't at the forefront of our minds during the season but this is just a brief summary:

What to think of this?

Could this be a hint at Peppers staying or is this just recruiting-talk? I think the latter...

http://www.mlive.com/wolverines/index.ssf/2016/10/michigan_moves_into_top_2_for.html#incart_most-commented_wolverines

"He was showing me film and saying how I'll go in and fight for the position that Jabrill (Peppers) plays," Reid said, "so I can come in and learn off him."

He's projected to be a top 5 pick. Butt and Lewis were not. Big difference. I think he is gone.

As of right now I have no inside info or feeling about this.  All I know is that Peppers promised his mother that he would graduate from Michigan.  Nothing was said about leaving and then coming back later to finish though.  Peppers isn't an offensive lineman, I have no idea on his mind-set.  I called the Lewan decision because I know o-linemen, I know Michigan, and it made sense.  I do not know all of the positions that Peppers plays (nor do I understand how they mesh), I do not know much about Jabrill (other than what you hear in the media), nor can I make any rational sense of this.  On one-hand I selfishly want Peppers to return, on the other a top 5 pick with mega-bucks to follow, but then again the Michigan experience is something speacil, yet he's not Denard, however he's a hell of a lot more talented than Denard, and basically I don't know.  I want him to come back but as of right now I'm just going to enjoy this season and let the Peppers fall where he may....

Long is an o-lineman, Peppers is not.  I have no clue what Peppers will do.

Oh, and btw, with Newsome's injury Saturday the view of o-lineman may change. That was a huge factor in their staying but now I'm not so sure.
