| story over on the Columbus Dispatch (I think that's where I saw it).
I think I don't have a problem with this, either. Frankly, I'm just tired playing this "we're above everybody else" when it comes this kind of stuff. I just want to win. And if forcing 5th years to try out is going to help us win, do it.

| I agree 100% with this. I also eluded to it a month or so ago when we were talking about the scholarship numbers and the size of this class. I believe I said something to the effect that most of the scholarship attrition would come from 5th yr guys that wouldn't be guaranteed a spot. I think the last time I looked there were 12 guys and at that time I could think of only 3 guys that I would give a scholly to and that was based on past performance, contribution and current depth chart.
This is a good move by JH.

| Not sure what the guys problem is. He was there 4 years, earned his degree, and played 4 years (one redshirt year). Scholarship's in the B1G are, or were, 4 year scholarship's. He used up his 4 years, trying out again seems plausibe. Granted, if Home was still there he probably wouldn't have to. That's no longer the case, sucks for him but it's good for Michigan. At least he doesn't sound too butt-hurt overt it. | |

| Heitzman transferred to Ohio so it's a non issue.
Based on his instagram post I'd say he's a Michigan Man for life. I doesn't sound like he's hurt (bummed was his exact words). He understands why and he is leaving with well wishes for the program and his friends still on the team.
Bellomy and Hayes also transferred so it's not like this was a surprise to the 5th yr guys.
