Pretty quiet in here. I'm ridiculously excited about the season starting. Not thrilled with the opponent though.

I was gong to say I'm not so sure they can cover a 40-point spread, then I thought about a jet-lagged team (Australia last weekend) playing at what will be 6:00 a.m. to their bodies. Hawaii might have the benefit of already playing, but Michigan will be pumped sky high. You could be right, fish.

What a disaster Hoke was as a head coach. Nice guy, but...

When he came in he said all the right things. He recruited well, he treated the players well. I have to admit I bought into it all.

Then he had to coach..............

Interesting article in the Freep toady (can't get it loaded to this page) contrasting the coddling of Hoke's "sons" during preseason (he put the whole team up at a eff-ing hotel!!!) v Harbaugh's no-nonsense, stay in the dorms, work dawn-to-dusk approach with his football players. The vets from the Hoke horror years have certainly noticed, and appreciate, the difference.

I am pumped too! Hawaii can score it appears- 31 points on Cal despite being minus 5 on turnovers. Good test for the defense.
