Pete Fiutak has us going undefeated until Penn State which will be the first loss of the season. I pretty much concur although both Florida, and surprisingly Indiana may be closer than many expect. I am not predicting a loss for either of those two but it wouldn't shock me either. So first loss will come at Penn State at night, We'll beat Rutgers, the boat rowin'Minnesotans, and Maryland comfortably. Then comes a game at Wisconsin, Fiutak predicts a loss. Personally I'm currently on the fence with this pick as I of course haven't seen either team play yet but as the game is in Wisconsin and Michigan will undoubtedly be looking ahead to ohio state I'm leaning towards Wisconsin. I do reserve the right to change my pick after I see 5 or 6 games from each team. ohio state comes to A2 for "The Game" the next week. We all know the history and we all know that our first year players (and their first year players) will basically have a year of experience by this point. Fiutak picked Michigan in this game and the homer in me will too. So basically it's another 10 win season but no B1G Championship game as Penn State would need to lose three league games and ohio state would need to lose two. I think ohio state will beat Penn State this year as the game is in cowlumbus. It is quite possible for ohio state to lose a league game somewhere but I have no idea where. That basically means the Michigan-Penn State game becomes a de'facto play-in game to qualify for the opportunity to play in the play-in game for the B1G Championship. OK, that made very little sense but this is what joe wanted. To simplify it the winner of the UM-PSU game becomes the competition for ohio state. If Michigan wins "The Game" will have extra meaning, like in old-times. If Penn State wins then "The Game" will still have meaning for the two schools but it won't really matter to both schools as far as The B1G TEN is concerned. _________________ 'eggo denoted me a First ballot Hall of Famer! - sandyeggo_blue wrote:

| I think PSU is the most overrated team in the country. McSorley isn't very good. UM will sell out to stop the run and won't worry about getting beat by the pass. | |

| Geez- we beat them 49-10 last year. I was there and the score was not misleading. I get the road at night white out thing, but personally I'm more worried about at Wisconsin and home to OSU. Florida is a complete wild card for me.First game of the year- who knows? | |

| I couldn't agree with Fish or Shoes MORE. I don't understand all the affection for Penn State (by more people than Fiutak)...because of one unlikely run in '16 (after getting pounded, as you say Shoes, by us).
We handled them rather handily (28-16) in our last trip to their house, too. And, which team has the better coach? (OK, no more dumbass questions today, sorry...)
The game I feel we are likeliest to lose is at Wisconsin. They played us very tough at the 'House last year, you know they're gunning for us, and Camp Randall is always a tough place to win.
I'd rate the Florida game a near toss-up (with the slightest edge going to us) if it weren't for our record against them, including a 41-7 blowout all of 18 months ago...
And---I'm rather confident Jim gets the Urby monkey off his back this year...

| Penn State had significant injuries for our game last year. Nyeem Wartman-White, a Sr. LB; Brandon Bell, another Sr. LB; Evan Schwan, a Sr. DE; Saeed Blacknall, a JR WR; Jason Cabinda, a Jr. LB; and Grant Haley, a Jr. CB.
We played them early in the year when we were clicking on all cylinders and Penn State was decimated on the defensive side of the ball with injuries. Playing at their place, at night, in a white out will not be easy. _________________ 'eggo denoted me a First ballot Hall of Famer! - sandyeggo_blue wrote:

Playing at their place, at night, in a white out will not be easy. Injuries do not account for a 39 point ass whooping. Also, I don't think it will be easy, but I also don't buy into PSU being a title contender. Barkley is a great RB, but they have no other real weapons, and McSorley is not a very good QB.

| Saeed Blacknall. I'm not saying that they will win it all either, but judging a team on one game, early in the year, where 3 starting LB's are out is naive. _________________ 'eggo denoted me a First ballot Hall of Famer! - sandyeggo_blue wrote:
