A friend of mine, who is also a UM fan, but a pessimistic one, thinks Purdue's offense is so prolific that they will score 28 or more against UM. I told him that he is crazy. So, we put a friendly $10.00 bet on that outcome.

Looking for your thoughts about this.

I think not unless our offense turns it over a ton. Purdue has had a great offense so far though.

Fish, I'd need clarification in order to help you out: did your pal say PURDUE scores 28 on us, or PURDUE'S OFFENSE does?  Obviously the latter case excludes pick-sixes and kick/punt returns for touchdowns.

If he restricts it to their OFFENSE (e.g., like Florida's only scored THREE of their team's 17 on us), I'd raise that bet to $100.00 without flinching.

And right now (though things can change enormously every week), I'd be willing to bet $20.00 that NONE of our remaining foes' offenses ALONE (i.e., without scoring from STs or their defenses) will put 28 points on our defense.

Note I said RIGHT NOW: down the road, a key defensive player (or more) could be lost for the season (UGH!), etc.

He said 28, no specification if it can come from a side other than offense. Funny you mention this, because after we shook and another guy witnessed, he said "damn, I should have said 4 TD's, because now they will miss and extra point and only score 27 and I'll owe you"
