I refuse to make a (BTT) prediction as well...but for a different (and I'll confess, downright shitty) reason: I flat-out DON'T CARE.
As I said, a crappy attitude to be sure: but as with us all, it's the REAL tourney I look ahead to.
We have considerably less to play for than NW. What I'm concerned about is the fact that, were we to reach the title game, three games in THREE DAYS is very, very enervating...and it's when one is TIRED that they are most injury-prone. (Throw in the fact these are teenaged bodies, in Tim's and Trey's case).
Basketball is not pitching, I know (it's far more demanding, physically)...but allow me a brief analogy. I tore the tendon in my elbow throwing (in a semi-pro league in my hometown, on summer vacation from U-M...not while pitching in a U-M uni)...because I was TIRED, and tried to compensate for
the lack of energy in the arm by "over-extending", so to speak, trying to
throw beyond myself...and POP!. That awful feeling of an electrical shock...and torn tendon.
How this could equate to basketball moves, etc. I can't say. But running the floor at (considerably) less than 100% can [possibly] cause one to go into an unnatural, even awkward, gait, potentially leading to foot/leg injuries.
Just my two cents---and it's probably worth little more than that. But I want us healthy and hungry for the REAL dance.
