Will we beat Purdue?

I really wanted to go to this game but a 9:00 Pm start with a 2-1/2 hour drive home says no.

One of my brothers has 6 daughters. The 5 oldest graduated from Purdue. The 6th is currently at South Florida. (Go Bulls!)

I was going to bring my most Purdue fanatical niece to the game but she lives even an hour farther than I do.

These 9:00 starts fucking suck.

I can't compare us to Purdue yet until I see it. I think we're athletic enough. Mo and Jon have to stay out of foul trouble. And one thing I know about them is they are a very quick starting team. We need to be ready right from the tip.

My predicrions:

1.  UM loses to Purdue.
2.  UM loses to MSU.
3.  Artist has a complete meltdown during each game.

Highly predictable I agree. It would be great if we could steal one Tues but I'm not counting on it. Already looking ahead to Maryland and hoping we win that one to break a 2 game losing streak. Still would take 11-7 in BT, no questions asked.

No melt down I can read, and the writing on the wall says Michigan has a really rough week. The saying goes win the games your supposed to and hope on the other. I do not see Michigan being with in 10 points of either of these games. Michigan big guys will be in foul trouble early. Then both 7 footers will have double, doubles.

Last year we killed their 2 big man lineup to the point where Painter dropped it and admitted after the game that Wagner and Wilson were a bad match-up for his two bigs. Of course we don't have Wilson this year and Wagner seems to still be getting his legs back. I was at the game Saturday and he played much better than in the previous two but he seemed winded a couple of times.

Mathews needs to improve his shooting % gets a lot of looks, moves well off the ball but only shooting 42%

Instant replay has got to go. Anyone that says it's an improvement in any sport is nuts. IMHO

When you have to slow the replay down to super slow mo and watch it frame by frame to make a call, that is just wrong, whether the call is correct or not. I say the refs should get two looks at the replay at regular speed and make a decision.

I do like the idea of two looks, maybe even in real time, and that's it. Ridiculous use of replay last night.

Purdue murdered Michigan last night with 3s. JB teams are known for their ability to pass and shoot and I was flat out jealous of Purdue's ball movement and their ability to shoot the 3. That is how a team is supposed to pass and shoot.

I am still perplexed at Matthews' inability to make a damn free throw. It's clear that he or MAAR are the two guys that you want to have the ball in a clutch shot but if he can't make a FT and I'm the other team I'd just foul him and take my chances with him on the line. I'd put more money on him losing a game than winning one from the line.

I thought Teske gave some quality minutes last night. Good for him. I will be watching to see his growth over the next year or two. I think he's going to be a VERY serviceable 5 for Michigan.
