I wasn't sure he wouldn't slide into the second, but was glad to see him taken in the first...probably quite a good hunk of "pocket change" between the two.

Interesting that the team GM'ed by none other than our own (former player) Rob Pelinka took him. But the Lakers, playoff-WATCHERS for five seasons running now, need help from any "quarter".  (I did mention 'pocket change', no?)

Meanwhile, did y'all get a kick out of the MLive column heading, "Banner night for Spartans", all because Jackson and Bridges went in the upper half of the 1st round?   Ummm...what did Sparty do ON COURT with that dazzling collection of talent???   Izzo's losing his touch as coach and their fan base knows it.

Agree on all counts. Moe is such a good kid and first round money is guaranteed, I don't think second round is besides the absolute difference in the contracts.

As for Izzo, Jackson goes 4th overall and only played 20 minutes a game- real genius there. Bridges was "projected to go 8th overall last year, but went 12th this year. Still good but his stock may have slipped.

May have miscounted but Nova had 3-4 or more players taken in the 1st round. That was a great team UM lost to in the finals. Plus you have a kid coming off the bench and throwing up 40 ft shots that hit nothing but net. There wasn't a team in the tourney that would have beaten Nova. Kansas, a #1 seed, was down 30 in the first few minutes of the game. At least UM had the lead for a while before the onslaught began.

I'll go on record right now that barring injury Mo has a better NBA career than either Jackson or Bridges. The latter two have more talent but MO understands the game much more, plays his best when the game is on the line, and is way way smarter.

Agree fully about 'Nova, FBF.  But regarding Mo vis-à-vis Jackson/Bridges: your very last clause ISN'T SAYING MUCH.
