Congrats. I’ve never seen a better two-way player. The one-handed INT v Sparty is one of my best Michigan memories.

Such a marvelous and complete player in college and the NFL. I'm biased but I do think he is the #1 NFL d-back of all time.
I think it is between Charles and Tom Harmon for the greatest college Wolverine football player ever.

Certainly a viable choice, Woody...but in this mind, it still pales a little when I remember his final game at the Big House (20-OSU-14)...catches two passes to ignite our first scoring drive (before which our offense was stagnant), intercepts a pass in the endzone, and zooms 78 yards with a punt to put us up two scores.
What more can ONE PLAYER be asked to do for his team???
In fact, while CW held the Rose in his mouth afterward, I think the immortal Keith Jackson's exclamation, "Hello, Heisman!" would have been MORE merited, and appropriate, THERE/THEN than it was after Dez Howard's punt return (and Heisman pose) six years earlier.
And Charles still had plenty of magic left in the tank for Wazzu in the Rose...highlighted by his endzone pick THERE, too. (Would have had an equally-important defensive play, had a blind referee thrown, rather than pocketed, the flag he held up in his hand).
