New Conferences?

The story goes that the B1G and the SEC have met and created a union to "discuss" the current state of affairs in College sports. I don't think it's a rumor. They talked fairly openly about it on the radio.

Well it doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure they are going to create their own "NCAA" but not NCAA. These 2 conferences can shut down the NCAA. It is in the infantile stages of happening but keep an ear out.

Now with pure conjecture I will say they will make 2 super-conferences. They will either totally expand to take any good athletic schools or they will force the lower teams (Rutgers, Indiana, Northwestern, Vanderbilt, Michigan State, etc) out to put in Clemson, Florida State and just a couple of others.

Everyone else will be the little sisters.

There may be a 12 game playoff but at least 8 will come from this new union.

These 2 conferences are stronger than the entire NCAA.

OK, am I delusional? What do you guys think?

you've pretty much pointed out what everyone knows or at least suspects is happening.

It will be interesting to see how the other sports outside of football start to align. particularly the revenue generating sports.

NCAA's days are numbered. It might take 5 years but it's coming.
