I stick to bourbon before the games. I hate to get up to run to the bathroom because of the beer! I like to watch the games more than the beer lol.

I'm the same actually. Always whiskey for me.

But, sometimes I either finish the flask early in the game or forget it all together, so it's nice having another option if the worst happens. Haha

I have never been a beer drinker.

That's cool, I've got a buddy who lives in St. Paul who wants me to go to the Minny game with him. Now another reason to look forward to that game!

I wonder what the gameday atmosphere is like there?

Can't imagine they get too hopped up for Golden Gopher football, anymore, eh?

Anyone ever been up there for a game?

Although, that may mean little, because up until this year, we've only ever played them at the HHH Dome, off campus.

I know several people who either attended Minny or live there currently and they all say Pre-gaming is a party. Of course it's not like Michigan, mainly because no one expects to win, but it is a good time. Twice as many people go to the tailgates, pre-game parties, etc. than go o the game. It's all about getting drunk, having a good time, and hockey there...

Football game? Psht. Tailgate? Hell yeah.

Finally my senior year the Athletic Department made changes to the tailgate fields: All fields closed 30 minutes before kickoff. If you're going to the game, go in. If you're not, get the hell out of here.

Needless to say, many, many, many tickets and DUI's were written that season.

I think they've since changed it back (because even less people were showing up to even tailgate then).

I know that several years ago Notre Dame made the rule that if you didn't go in you didn't tailgate. And they walked around looking for people.

They had too many instances of people really trashing up the place while the game was going on. Then the gamegoers would come back from the game and the parking lot was trashed.

Actually I witnessed it firsthand a coule of times.

That was at least 15 years ago. Don't know if they have changed or not.
