I'm so excited for the series. I love the Tigers as much as I love UM football.

AFK and Fish, I see tonight's game at SF as a must-win for the Tigers...
not only because our ace is taking the hill, on loads of rest, but because a win tonight and the home-field advantage flips.

A Giants' win tonight, and SF maintains HFA, and more importantly, has it in the back of their minds that they can beat Mighty Justin. (Unless, of course, it's a 1-0 or 2-1 pitcher's duel, not the fault of the starting pitcher).

But I honestly feel the Tigers need this win...trite/naive as that may sound.

The good news is, JV is going on normal rest. He started game 4 on Thursday the 18th, so today is his normal 5th day out. I think that is key. All the talk of the Tigers having too much rest doesn't really apply to him, because of the schedule.

I think JV dominates the SF hitters toningt and the Tigers take a 1 game lead.

Oops, he started game 3 on the 17th. Still only one extra day.

I have a very good feeling about the Tigers in the World Series. Since I can remember me and my dad watch/listen to almost every Tigers game, doing this in the 90's-early 2000's was a drag but it was something I did with my dad so I didn't mind too much.

The similarities to 2006 are pretty amazing. Close first round (although that was thanks to Valverde) a sweep in the second round and now a week off before starting the World Series. I just hope the good guys come out on top this time around.

San Francisco is getting a ton of love from the media and they're considered the team that is never out of it no matter how bad things look. But the Tigers have the best pitching in baseball (knocking on wood) so let's hope we can ride off that. Relief pitching will still be insane stressful I imagine.
