A quick Google search reveals these other notable sports events...

1990 Evander Holyfield KOs Buster Douglas in 3 for heavyweight boxing title
1987 Minnesota Twins win their 1st World Series championship beating St. Louis Cardinals, 4 games to 3 in 84th World Series
1986 Trailing 5-3 with 2 out and no one on in bottom of 10th, New York rallies to win Game 6 of the World Series, 6-5, Bill Buckner misplays a ball
1981 George Steinbrenner scuffles with 2 fans in a hotel elevator
1978 Padres Gaylord Perry is 1st to win Cy Young in both leagues (NL)

1884 1st World Series OK by AA, Providence (NL) sweeps New York Mets (AA) in 3

also

of course there were a lot of others but somehow none of them match up to Charles' catch.

I love that coach Hoke is the guy on the sidelines talking to him about it afterward. Classic.

The ironic thing about Woodson's superman interception was that we couldn't get any points off it. Lloyd went conservative calling 3 straight running plays up the middle that only got 6 yards so we had to settle for a field goal. But Kraig Baker missed it. Even Lloyd's wife Laurie was giving him a hard time about those 3 running plays after the game.

My brother, a State fan, was sitting right there in one of the lower rows. Said they all thought he was out until they saw the replay. He tells me it is the single greatest individual play he has ever seen live.

Also, on yesterday's date in 1975, 93,000+ poured into the Big House to watch Michigan beat the hell out of IU, 55-7.

That is the last time less than 100,000 watched the Maize and Blue play in AA.
