Where is NCHawk when you need him? I'm cautiously optimistic about tomorrow. We deserve to be an underdog here but I kinda like it- pressure on Iowa at home- our main goals all gone, I hope we free wheel it a little bit and break out some big plays on offense. Anyone else have any strong thoughts?

Hey shoes.

The fan base has either gotten in a rage or apathetic.

I personally am so busy I don't have time to post much.

I saw hawk posted on the MLive forum earlier this week. But it was a "one-and-done" post.

I think we win this one. I know we're underdogs. Brady BETTER use that s motivation.

I'm still holding out hope for a ten win season and a huge upset against OSU.  I think UM wins this weekend 17-13.

I have some "chatter", but not related to the game tomorrow (which I hope The Blue can win if their minds, of both coaches and players, are in the game). I read a column in Bleacher Report in which the writer is questioning whether Brady Hoke can change the culture at Michigan after the disaster of RR. One of the ideas mentioned was the assigning of retired numbers of Michigan greats to active players. It seems to me that the present players should have the opportunity to create their own identity and legacy. Will we remember Gallon for what he has done or for wearing Desmond Howard's #21? Or Funchess with #87? Etc., etc. Furthermore, a quarterback wearing #98 in today's sports world is rather bizarre. And certainly Gardner has done nothing to sustain Tom Harmon's accomplishments since the Notre Dame game. Very few people around the country realize the significance of Michigan's numbers such as 11, 21, 47, 87, or 98 except those familiar with the program and tradition of MICHIGAN!

I have absolutely no use for ANYONE that says we should lose so they fire coaches.

I have a personal and moral issue with someone that wishes someone else fired. In just about any livelihood. I don't think Borges or Funk are trying to fail. If they get fired then so be it. But I'm not going to sit here and beat on the issue.

It just seems so easy now-a-days to get on the internet and start screaming to the rooftops to anyone that will listen. And if someone doesn't agree with you then they are communist apologists.

Someone earlier this week posted (this is from my memory) that you could argue against an idea but you shouldn't argue against the person having the idea. (That's nowhere near what was posted but it is my interpretation of it.)

Anyway, I DIGRESS

LET'S GO BLUE!!!!!

Maybe let them wear it for 1 game?

Are we running out of numbers because of retired numbers?

Retiring numbers in college is an issue where you have 85 scholarship players plus walk-ons. We already have duplicate numbers and have to take care they aren't ever on the field at the same time.

I have mixed emotions on the whole legend thing. Like others I want to see a really good player keep the number they had showing how good they were, not switch mid-career or in their last year.

I think you give out the coveted numbers to freshman as a recruiting inducement and maybe they live up to it maybe they don't. Did it kill us that Tyron Butterfield wore #1 and and didn't turn out that well?

I'll go 21-17 UM but am falling into the apathetic category as it is a mystery how this team has regressed and then not been coached up or adjusted and since I have said my piece and concerns on Borges and Funk and maybe Fred Jackson as well not being strong enough coaches in the modern game then why pile on. You have covered my thoughts almost exactly on the other board and the troll fest there (if you just ignore them they will go away"yea right... is untenable.
