about Michigan's direction to Pro-Style offense? I'd sure like a mix.

I have a feeling we're going to see a bit of the mix you're looking for this year. Nuss is in love with Devin's mobility. It's almost man crush-esque from what I've been reading.

that said, Keith Price was more of a throwing QB during Nuss' last year at UW and that kid can run. So I'm not really sure what to expect this year.

Not really.

Pro style offense are effective when personnel is in place.

Probably the most successful program (Alabama) over the last 5-10 years runs Pro Style.

Both styles can be effective. What I do not like about up tempo is what you do to your defense putting them on the field more often than with a pro style. Even if you score they only get a minute break.

Yeah, that's why RR failed. The offense was so good the poor defense had no time to rest!

But honestly, the offense wasn't that good was it?

I just went to the CFA database.

Hokes 3 teams average 31.79 ppg.
RR's 3 teams averaged 27.64 ppg.
Lloyd Carr's last 5 years 30.30 ppg. (Didn't feel like doing all his years.)

So, tell me again how good an up-tempo offense is?

Take out RR's first season when he had horrible personnel and no BT caliber QBs, and how does that comparison look?

Nits can be picked in all places.

I could remove all of their worst years and all of their best years.

I could massage them in many ways.

This is raw data.

I removed RR's first year.

He is now averaging 31.2 per game.

I STILL don't see any evidence of this HIGH POWERED OFFENSE.

then you weren't watching close enough. As far as nits go why did you use 5 years for Lloyd?

Because I didn't feel like using 13. I had to do the math and frankly didn't feel like doing 13 years.

Would you like me to use the last 3? The first 3? The middle 3? All 13?

Honestly his numbers don't fluctuate dramatically so he's gonna be around 30. It's not a wide variance.

Over 13 years Lloyd's teams averaged 26.9 ppg.

So his numbers are down.

Am I allowed to remove his lowest year too?

Now, who can tell us what the average points scored a game is now compared to 1995-2006 when Lloyd coached? I'd Bet the entire country is scoring more points now than they were in 2000.

Let's pick nits.
