Vegas has UM -2 right now with the over-under at 131

Tennessee is so long that UM is going to have fits trying to hit outside shots and they have two big bodies inside so getting the ball down low is going to be a tough task as well.

This game really worries me. Pitino, Izzo, Calipari, Donovan, Fisher..... meh. JB is the best coach left and I think that's what get's UM into the Elite 8.

Sandy, didn't everyone say the same about Texas (and our chances against them)?  6-9,285 is bigger than anything Tenn. has. And Texas had two big men as does Tenn. And coach B and our men sure as hell managed to out-think the big man we couldn't outmuscle or out-reach (by running him into the floor). And Tenn. doesn't have the outside shooting we have (who has?) and if they have to answer a lot of threes early-on, as Texas did, they could be in for a very long night.

Going forward, though, I expect a closer, more tense game this time. I'm going with U-M by 6...with a couple of ties (or even 1- or 2-pt. U-M deficits) as late as the halfway mark of the second half. Our outside and free-throw shooting, and coach B's savvy direction, will be the difference.

Friday Morning---Michigan is running into a buzzsaw in Tenn. They are primed to be upset.

Saturday Morning---So what, they beat an 11 seed. Wait until Louisville/Kentucky get on the floor with them. They have no shot.

We need to hold our own early. Tenn has a tendency to jump on teams and establish a solid early lead in their best games.

this partly addresses MichMike's post also. Bottom line is that Texas couldn't match up against our transition game. They weren't built for transition and we saw that three minutes into the game (which someone aptly dubbed a hockey game). We ran them into the floor. Tennessee isn't necessarily a transition team either but they are way better off than Texas was.

So a hot start or at least not getting put into a hole early is going to be key like shoes said.

Oh and one more thing, UM shot the lights out against Texas. Partly because they were on fire and partly because they were getting separation which led to good looks. That is going to be harder against Tenn because they are much longer than Tex and they transition better on D which will allow them to get into better D position than Tex did.

I still think M wins but I'll be wearing gloves because if not I'd probably bite my nails bloody in this one.
