| Maybe I'm not reading between the lines here but I don't think anything Lewan said about Gardner was meant as a jab.
I liked what he had to say about Morris though.
I thought this was spot on...
On what happened after the 2013 Notre Dame game: "I think our team got a little too comfortable. After the Notre Dame game, we thought we were there. That was the issue. And it doesn't matter if you're in college, pro or high school, you can't get comfortable. Otherwise it goes downhill."

| I just remember him making guarantees after the horrible performance against Akron and then it didn't get any better. One of the reasons I hate guarantees is that they're pretty much meaningless (in a team sport).
There was only one I liked and that was Joe Namath before the Super Bowl. In that case the team was such an underdog I think Joe's confidence rubbed off in a positive way.

'shoes Shoes, you didn't also like, at least as much, Jimmy H's guarantee of victory in Columbus in '86? Like Broadway Joe, he put up, too...

| Mike- except that as I recall Jim threw 2 ints in that game and we won a close game as the betting Favorite, not quite like the Jets being 17 point underdogs and Broadway Joe playing a very controlled game.

| I agree. The vibe I was getting from Lewan was eerily similar to the vibe I was getting from Tim Hardaway Jr. two seasons ago after Michigan lost a few embarrassing games. "We apologize. We let you down. This will not happen again." .......boom, embarrassed again.
The basketball team eventually got hot an won a few games, but it had nothing to do with THJ's promises 2 months prior. Talk is cheap.
