Schiano is the new coach

of your NFL Buccaneers. Anyone else shocked by this? I really would not consider him a successful college coach.

definately not what you would call a sexy hire like a Meyer or Saban

for recruiting. Looks like Hoke is trying to steal an o-linemen.

Stockpiling the o-line!!! It's going to be an embarrassment of riches.

And yes, very surprised with the hire.

I remember watching Rutgers in the Pinstripe Bowl this year, and the announcers going on and on and on about how Schiano felt like he was going to stay at Rutgers forever.

I do still give him props for the shoutout he did to Eric LeGrande (I think that's his name) over the PA system in Yankee Stadium, the kid who suffered that terrible injury that left him paralyzed. I thought that was an absolute stand-up move by the coach.

But this is almost baffling to me.

Makes no sense. Average career at a mid level program. How does that qualify for an NFL HC position? Like I stated earlier, thank God Michigan did not end up with Schiano.
