2016 Commit.... C Austin Davis

This makes absolutely no sense to me. The roster balance is shot to shit right now. Unless Hatch gets a medical hardship scholarship, Michigan only has 12 total available schollies. As it stands right now, half of them will be used on the Center position: Doyle, Donnal, Wilson, Teske, Davis. That is a logjam and leaves the back court very, very, thin.

My only guess is that the staff foresees someone transferring out (Donnal?).

any chance these guys can shoot like Kaminski and Beilein is thinking about going taller?

I know next to nothing about Teske or Davis.

BTW Wilson seems like a 3 or 4 to me and not a 5.

Teske is a long, defensive oriented Center that excels in shot-blocking. He could be a legitimate 7'0er by the time he gets to Michigan. Off the top of my head, the closest player comparison I can think of would be from Illinois center Mike Tisdale.

Austin Davis is more of a plodder a la Ricky Doyle. If he can get into better shape, I think his ceiling would be something like Jared Berrgen of Wisconsin a couple years ago.

I hope Wilson can play the 4, but Beilein has stated he plans on Wilson being a 5. He doesn't really have the handle or shot that Beilein looks for in his wings. I'll be pleasantly surprised if he can.

Moritz Wagner was also recruited as a PF/C. It's just a confusing logjam of players.

Wow, Beilein is really stockpiling the big men. Didn't see this coming.

Very curious how this effects the 2015 class. Could still keep Levert and bring in another recruit if they move Hatch to a medical scholarship. I still have a feeling they're going to keep Levert and get Kenny Williams.

The rumor is that Austin Davis is going to end up reclassifying to the '17 class and attend a year of prep school. This is very relieving news.

Michigan really needs a PG and a Wing in the 2016 class. If Davis was/is in the 2016 class, then it can either be one or the other.
