Hard to believe it's already been that long since Bo passed. I was actually on the mlive board (at work, of course), where I got the news. Two days before o$u.

Yes, that was a tough one for me. My first Mich game was in Bo's first year (Purdue) and my first year on campus was his second year. I was also at his last game in the Rose bowl.My mom and dad met him when they got him to autograph a book for me as a Christmas gift. I shed a tear 11 years ago and still remember him so fondly.

Great coach great man great loss ... man of integrity won and loss games playing by the rules ... Michigan’s problems post Carr wouldn’t have happened had Bo still been around... GO BLUE !!!

I know I told you guys this before, but I had a one-on-one, almost hour-long breakfast with him in July, 1977, back in my sports reporter days. I was extremely nervous and in awe, but he put me totally at ease. He was staying at a bed and breakfast where I had an apartment (in Marshall) because he was in a charity golf tournament in Battle Creek.
