| It wouldn't be very cost-effective. Do you realize how much those lights cost to have on for evn a few hours? You wouldn't be able to get enough people to pay even $20 a ticket to watch a practice.
And remember what Brandon said, "We're not gonna have a night-game just to have a night-game. It needs to be special against a special opponent." IMHO having a scrimmage would not be special enough to warrant the use of the lights.

| When the athletic department has a revenue of $120 million/year, I don't feel bad making them pay the light bill. | |

| Also remember, Football pays for EVERYTHING (athletics related) at the University. Well, Hockey is self-sufficent and bouncey-ball might have regained self-sufficency as well. | |

| I understand. I just think it could provide for a cool atmosphere.
Bama has done it at night, I believe, and they pack the ENTIRE stadium (whether day or night).
I would love to see our fanbase rally like that so early for the team. And I believe the only way to get more people into the stadium is to put it under the lights.
Let's also not forget that we have some big-time recruits coming in that weekend. We could really use a solid fan showing, imho.
Anyway....Go Blue. | |

| You must also remember that the Michigan fan-base isn't as pathologic as the 'bama clan.

| Weather in Michigan is always unpredictable. It's been a very mild winter. Yesterday I went out without a coat and drove with the windows down. It was a great. But with our luck, this would end up being the coldest night of the season. Spring games are always dark, cold and windy. Sometimes there's rain too. I can only think of 2 of the 10 games I've been to where the weather was nice.
I'm not sure if a night Spring game would bring in more people. Having it be a game instead of scrimmage would certainly help. | |
