Michigan out of NCAA tournament due to positive Covid test. Why were they not in some kind of bubble.

I’m surprised only VCU has been hit in BB.

3 of the 16 teams in the Hockey tourny are out, that's significant. I haven't heard yet who tested positive but my guess, and that's all that it is, is it's a Coach. The players are fairly well shielded from society. The coaches have live their lives, interact with family who interacts with the public. Mind you I don't know but with the vague statement that the test came from "COVID-19 test results within U-M's Tier I testing group" leaves ambiguity.

Major bummer. This was a fun team to watch. We might have lost today, but on the other hand our ceiling was winning it all.

This team probably has 4 top 15 draft picks this year. This is the most talent I've seen on UM's roster in a long time. It was young talent but it speaks to exactly what shoes said... the ceiling was winning it all.

No. I admit that they're good but Hockey drafts differ from football, basketball, and even baseball. However, Owen Power is the presumptive #1 overall pick this coming draft.

Found out from a friend yesterday that actually 2 players tested positive for Covid-19. Actually one tested positive prior to Michigan leaving for the Regional. The second tested positive hours before puck drop against UMD.
I doubt if it is ever released which players contracted Covid-19 but in this day and age it will come out. Give it a day or two. At the very least someone will figure out who tested positive in A2. Just look at the flight log and compare it to the roster of players and there ya go.
