I will watch every game and cheer for us each game, but have spent much less time than (say in the last 50 plus years) in reading pre-season articles etc. My standard response when asked by those who know I am a big Michigan fan, how I think they'll do, is 6-6. I could see 7-5, I guess, but that's it. I expect the offense to be a bit better, but the defense to be as bad or worse than last year's bad defense.

I guess the good news is that I am less informed than usual, so maybe (hopefully), I'm wrong.

'shoes, you know better than to look at the pre-season hype articles on Michigan anyway. I casually see the headlines and laugh. I hear my inner-Valenti when I see those things. They are unavoidable so I just laugh at them. They're all the same anyway: there's been a surprise standout on defense, the QB looks better than we thought, RB is a large battle so we should be good this year, the coordinators are optimistic, etc. That being said I see a 7-5 year, Michigan will start out decent but that's do to a favorable schedule. I see losses to Washington, @ Wiscy, Indina, @ PSU, and bucknut. It's possible that if things workout Michigan could sneak another win and finish 8-4 (Lloyd Carr anyone?). I could see 6-6 too but my prediction is 7-5.

Strange you said that I am not very excited either. Looking for a blah season, The talent is so so and I know they can't beat O$U . Maryland and MSU seem to be improving and Jim just doesn't seem to have it. We'll see

TAFK....I disagree.... the talent is there but we won't know how developed it is. the shortened season took that away from UM last year, particularly on the D side of the ball. I think this could be one of the better and deeper O lines UM has had in a while and I think UM has a real shot at a 1000 yd rusher. Save this post and see where my prediction stands at the end of the season.

Cade is the wildcard but I've been saying ever since JH took over... "Throw in a young guy. Take your bumps. Let him mature. Look towards next season and beyond."

All these damn transfer QBs haven't been the answer.

Just imagine... 4th yr QB Dylan McCaffrey, with two years starting under him could've put UM over the top this year. But nope... starting over from scratch.... AGAIN.

Special teams and DBs are on my personal watch list even though the D line depth seems to be what everyone else is worried about.

I will watch, faithfully, but guardedly going into this year. Fool me seven times…

I know that we're all trying to forget last year but Cade played a bit, until he got his bell rung.
