| So then your happy that an Institution such as Michigan got humiliated on national TV by a conference that should have never been in the game . THis is why our Basketball team gets no respect and no serious consideration. _________________ "HAIL HAIL MICHIGAN" Wanted John Harbaugh but I'll settle for JIM WITH AN ENTHUSIASM UNKNOWN TO MANKIND GOOO BLUE The Curse of Rich Rod

| No, but I still don't believe that it was reason to fly off the handle like that. I remember following the Appy State loss, I couldn't wear anything Michigan (other than Alumni stuff because I am proud of that) for a month and a half. Did I rag on the coaches and players? No, I still supported them regardless of my reaction to the Appy State, and subsequent Oregon loss.
Stay true to your school. They're kids, it happens. _________________ 'eggo denoted me a First ballot Hall of Famer! - sandyeggo_blue wrote:

| Well,....I ragged on the coaches after those two football games! The team was unprepared, and preparation in the coach's job. | |

It's possible that the coaches should take take a minor amount of heat for the Appy State loss (although M would have won if the FG was executed) but Oregon was a good team with Dixon... _________________ 'eggo denoted me a First ballot Hall of Famer! - sandyeggo_blue wrote:

| Guess am sorry for the rant, but not what I said , yes booze was a factor , but the humiliattion that was served to me had more to do with it than the booze, iwas watching the game in a bar with some hockey buds . some from Western and MSU and Lawrence tech, they were ragging me pretty bad about the bumbs were playing and how belien didn't have them ready. I had no Ammo to defend them with, it was humiliating

| One thing about it I won't waste anymore time with the Tourney, I can either watch a game to enjoy it or be outside and enjoy the day. I'm sure Duke and MIZZ fans feel as bad as I do

| It was embarassing and humiliating as a Michigan fan but not enough to jump ship permanently. The Appy State and other losses have been discussed. But, as I posted recently, DEFENSE is critical and it was obvious yesterday: good D for Ohio and poor D for UM. Whenever UM had a bad game, very often the reason was good defense by the opponents. Look at the number of layups missed or blocked in the game; very discouraging indeed. I still am very supportive of Beilein and don't feel coaching is a problem. If only he could recruit a strong, big (7 foot range) force in the middle, as is every other team), it would be great. But still, in his offense good, consistant outside shooters are absolutely essential.
Still TRUE BLUE. Go Blue!!!!! _________________ too

| No I won't, CAN'T JUMP SHIP DEVOTION IS DEVOTION,some time things just get outta hand, Beilin proved he's on the right path. sometime you wonder if he's handcuffed because of past attritions. HAS to get sqeaky white clean guys (not a Slur) instead of talent, by squeaky white I mean kids with no rep or troubled past. so sometime the talents not tye same they still need 2 guys inside 6-10 and 6-9 that can jump not Smotycz type but rebounders. _________________ "HAIL HAIL MICHIGAN" Wanted John Harbaugh but I'll settle for JIM WITH AN ENTHUSIASM UNKNOWN TO MANKIND GOOO BLUE The Curse of Rich Rod

| Great thread! The title alone had me thinking someone is wasted.
I am all for being critical of the team or program. I will never understand why some can not criticize because some sort of blind devotion. I don't care if it is your favorite player or team. Bad is bad and you call it like you see it. It does not make you less of a fan.
The Ohio loss was pathetic. It was infuriating to watch them take 8 threes (slight exaggeration) at the end of the game when there was plenty of time to take 2's. I don't know if that falls on Beilein for not reeling them in and getting them to take better shots.
I said it before and I will say it again. Coach B is COY IMO. He led the team to a share of the B1G title with smoke and mirrors. No superstars on this team but he put together an effective TEAM. Lets hope the THJ and Burke return next year. With the guys coming in it we should see a more bigger and more athletic team. | |
