Stunning lack of maturity and the worst kind of a leadership example. I have a feeling that when the dust clears and inevitable suspensions, that our tournament hopes are over.

Disgusting display. He should be done for the rest of the season. Let Martelli run the team while he reflects on what a dumbshit move that was.

question is after seeing this what parent would want the athlete to be coached by him. i love his passion but when its done , you can't do shot like that. Juwan is probably a little frustrated with the way some people and the way this season has gone, I feel that but you can't take that on the handshake line

Hundreds of parents sent their kids to be coached by Bobby Knight.
While reading many articles I notice the ND writer says he should be fired. MSU writers say he should be fired. ohio writers say he should be fired. I am sure Paul Feimbaum says he should be fired.
What do all those have in common? The hatred of Michigan.

Upon further review, and perhaps removal of my maize and blue glasses I think he needs to be gone.
Wonder if John Beilein is available?

Too harsh! Remainder of the season with “last chance” permanent probation is better. In any event, how long until the hammer falls? I expected it would have happened by now (5:30 p.m.).

So much for the Dance. He might as well sit out the B1G as well, because the team’s going nowhere the rest of this season.

I don't think they were going to be invited to the dance anyway, I think the punishment was justifiable, I thought Gard would get some time to, little surprise by that! Michigan will be lucky if Howard learns something from this . Other than Diabante defensive presence not much change Johns will start he sucks, but I see Michigan maybe winning 1 game of the 5

University should make the suspension without pay, as well.

I thought he would be done for the season as well, but I won't greatly argue the 5 games. My concern is ongoing (as dwoody alludes to). It isn't the first or even second time that some of his players have had to restrain him. After the dust up with Turgeon (Maryland) last season during which he verbally threatened bodily harm, he justified it by basically saying I'm from Chicago and we don't like being disrespected. His post game presser Sunday was also disappointing as he didn't apologize, or take responsibility. His statement yesterday did but hat was likely crafted by the University with him adding a personal touch, so by itself it isn't that reassuring.
I am also distressed by the school of thought put forth by Seth and others on mgoblog- that we can't judge how a black man from Chicago looks at another coach putting his hand on his arm. Juwan is 50 and not some impressionable kid just off the mean streets. To use the we can't judge him in this context seems like subtle racism- i.e. he can't be expected to show the same level of maturity and restraint, because he is a black man from Chicago. IMO, that's wrong.

i also am not to upset with the 5 games it should have never went that far, but I am somewhat displeased with every body thinking the Wisconsin coach should go scott free. Had he not grabed Howard by the arm, Howard would have just kept on going. I am also pissed that Wisconsin says they are going to pay the fine ! I believe that Wisconsin is some what in denial about their part in the affair

Things no one is saying.
The AD said his players and coaches were doing nothing but trying to DE-ESCALATE the situation. That is all they did. Stood there while Michigan attacked them unprovoked. This is a straight out lie. Watch the tape.
Wisconsin coach grabbed juwan. Not the other way around. It is on tape.
Watch the tape again. The players held back juwan and he was backing up. Then that clown assistant coach came in spewing something and juwan lunged at him. that assistant also played for Wisky and was a real ass when he played. As dirty as that guy that has been there for 11 years now.
You are 100% right artist. They are playing the old woe is me, he hit me. I did not do ANYTHING. card.
Juwan did wrong and needs to and is going to be punished. Their coaches getting off free and clear is bullshit.

juwan can still make this right. The university can still make this right.
parents of recruits can judge juwan by his actions at the handshake line but they can also judge juwan by how moves forward. it all boils down to, does juwan do everything in his power to make himself better for this?
If I'm a parent and juwan comes into my living room to recruit my kid and I ask him about the incident and all I hear are explanations (some would call them excuses) as to why this happened, then I might not trust him to be a father figure for my child for the next 4 years. But if I hear juwan talk about the steps he took to right the wrongs and most importantly what he's learned from this and the steps he's taken to become a better man because of this then I would seriously listen.
if juwan uses this as learning point and and mechanism for self growth then he can also use this as another recruiting tool.
