why would any coach

worth his weight in salt want to coach college. st you have to bust your ass recruiting, then you coach them up only to see them transfer to a more lucrative, NIL del. Then you need to fight with the NCAA about rather you violated a rule or not ! Buy a kid a burger your in violation, I certainly would want to be a college coach!

In the pros it's one bad year and you're fired.

Plus, the guys you're coaching make more money than you do.

you can get paid well, and at some schools performance does not matter. And sometimes if you win enough early on, you're employed for life.

exactly this.... pay is ridiculous and you get the chance to run the team because ADs are nowhere near as powerful as GMs.

and lets face it, some guys would rather trade the hardship of dealing with millionaire primadonnas for the hardship of recruiting.

I suspect that a guy like Harbaugh (whose love of the game is clear) would rather coach younger guys than the millionaires. I've just always thought that way.
