| Any time you can stock up 4* players you do it.
Like they said, MAYBE one or two a year will squeek through and be a thorn in your side. But it's the exception as opposed to the rule.
Anyone that argues against it, well, it's JMHO..... _________________ "What the HELL's going on out here?"

| I agree with you. There's always going to be 'thorns in our side'...we play in second-best conference in the country. There are going to be some very talented players at other schools on our schedule. We're not going to get them all. But if we can land highly rated players early, why the heck not? _________________ "I don't get sick. I don't observe major holidays. I'm a jackhammer." - Jim Harbaugh & Dwight Schrute

| Look at Texas. They have done this since Mack Brown got there. It works. Early recruiting is the smartest way to go.

| Yeah, people will argue that Texas has been down lately but I would put that on the coaching staff (turnover?) and not the athletes.
I guess what I'm saying is I'd rather have 10 classes in a row ranked in the top 10 than ten in a row rated in the 35-40 range.
It might work in a short term but you just can't compete in the long run. _________________ "What the HELL's going on out here?"

| You just described the sparty football program to a "T". The caught lightning in a bottle the last couple years but now, well they're resuming their role in the middle of the pack. Of course they needed additional help with the brief decline of Michigan, ohio, Penn State, and the rest of the also-ran klan within the B1G. _________________ 'eggo denoted me a First ballot Hall of Famer! - sandyeggo_blue wrote:

| Get it over with so you can consetrate on you other stuff during season, and not be worried about getting this kid or that when you have every other coach scrammbling after this kid or that. _________________ "HAIL HAIL MICHIGAN" Wanted John Harbaugh but I'll settle for JIM WITH AN ENTHUSIASM UNKNOWN TO MANKIND GOOO BLUE The Curse of Rich Rod

| It's really pretty simple in my mind:
Good - if you get players like Michigan is getting
Bad - if you don't and are an elite program
Doesn't matter - if you are little brother and won't get elite level talent anyway.

| Basically, if it's you it's good.
If it's your "Big Brother" then it's bad.
