These late games always throw a curve into my Saturday football watching. We usually make a soup in the crock pot, and have some snacks, and the soup is there if you are ready to eat. Since the game is at 8pm, we have decided to do some stuff around the house, yard work, caulk around shower, exciting stuff, to keep busy until the late start.

Back to food, since it is a late game, my wife is slow cooking a roast today, and tomorrow we are going to have a panini sandwich bar. Should be some good meats, cheeses, and other fixings.

Make a hot sandwich, watch some early games, and maybe try to fit in a recliner nap before the late start.

Wow, that's unique...the panini bar.

We're going to the grocery store tonight to pick up the basics: ingredients for the buffalo chicken dip, our BBQ smokies, then we gotta figure out another item or two to add.

I think I want a panini bar though...

When I say panini bar, what we do is set out all of the sandwich stuff, and then we all just put in what we want, like a salad bar, then press it at the end.

We got the panini press about 3 years ago. Man, with the right bread and fixings, you can make some delicious sandwiches.

FYI, don't use lettuce in the sandwich, as it will wilt and turn soggy. Substitute fresh spinach, holds up better under the heat of the press.

Nice!

We're going to have to look into doing something like that.

That'd be great for a tailgate too (if you have power for the press, of course).

yeah I might have to steal that panini bar idea. Sometimes my wife and I will have a bloody mary bar but that's if the game starts around noon (PST). Don't think I could hit the bloody mary bar all day for a 5 oclock game (PST)

Yes you can.

You've gotta BELIEVE, man!!!!

Believe in yourself.

Believe that you can take down a gallon of bloody mary's.

I know you can. I believe in you.

I believe I can but I also believe my parenting skills would seize to exist.

I gotta worry about the little guys too. Wouldn't want to have a belligerent dad falling all over the place and cursing non-stop right when my oldest is starting to get into watching the games with me. He's at a critical juncture in his Michigan fanship and I have to be sure to nurture him into the next phase ha ha!

That makes all the sense in the world.

Tip of the cap to you for being the standup father every man should be.
