Devin vs. Braxton

Braxton is with a coach who will utilize him to his fullest (Denard would also have flourished under Urban (if healthy). This year will be a true test of Borges with Devin- I THINK it will work out well.
Given the differences in the offenses I think it's an "apples and oranges" situation with the apples having proven more but don't bet against the oranges.

Devin is closer to a Pro-style QB than Denard is/was. Personally, I think that Borges will be able to do what he actually wants to do with Devin as QB. With Denard he basically had run plays and teams could stack the box against the run. Denard could throw, just didn't have any intelligence or accuracy with his throws. Devin is accurate, a student of the game, and can run (no where near what Denard could do but he is still a great runner- think Vince Young in college). Devin can actually throw the ball well so whenit's there Devin will recognize the pass and hit his receiver. When it isn't Devin will take off on his feet.

I don't want to get too homerish but I'm looking forward to big things this year. Growing pains are the only things that concern me. 12-2 with losses to Notre Dame and Northwestern, two victories over ohio in consecutive weeks, plus a Rose Bowl win over Oregon.

Borges tried but accuracy is often a reflection of time to throw. That in turn comes from the blocking, deception (fakes) or fear (in Denard's case, the fear of over-rushing him). He completed over 60 percent in his first full year as a QB and I think he would have continued to be in that range under the old offense (again if he had stayed healthy which he did not).

Devin appears to fit the offense a lot better that Borges wants to run. I don't think Borges would do very well with Braxton either.
