Headed out

Going to make the seven hour drive up to Yosemite in a bit. Tuesday I'll start my 224 mile solo hike on the JMT trail as well as some of the surrounding peaks. Should take me 15 days if all goes as planned.

I'll be sure to take some pics. If I never make it back GO BLUE! Very Happy

Sounds like a great thing, Sandy, and here's wishing you a healthy, enjoyable experience.

Only part I'd be somewhat leery about is the word "solo". Is is ever advisable to go in parties of less than four on long pedi-voyages like that, including even skiing? I know from kid brother's experiences in Aspen that the experts always say go in parties of 4. If the unexpected happens, one person can stay with the injured, while the other two go for help. But---this from me, what would I know?
I've never hiked that long a distance...despite living (now) some 10 miles from a "junction point" of the Appalachian Trail.
