I am excited as well. The exhibition games don't do much for me though. Looking forward to seeing some real games against better competition.

I think this years team can be better than last years team.

Provided Spike and Walton are effective. I also read somewhere that Levert could play the 1 if all else fails and that would essentially make everyone on the floor 6'6" or taller and there are only a few teams in the country that can say that.

I agree. Very deep. Morgan is now a senior. Levert and Spike will see more time. Both showed us what they are capable of. GR3 and Nick will dominate. A full year with Mitch. I have read good things about all of them in terms of weight they have added and their verticals have increased. The new guys looked pretty good in the first exhibition.

LeVert is, by far, the most improved player over the summer. He will see time at the PG position (as he did in the exhibition) and it won't just be in "all else fails" situations. Michigan is easily the most versatile team in the Big 10 right now.

Also, the development of Stauskas and LeVert makes it easier to swallow missing out on Blackmon Jr. and Booker.

I'm a bit concerned about his back. Big guys and back injuries aren't always a good combo. I hope he's 100% and his back doesn't give him any problems this year.

this is great news. I hadn't heard much about his progression but after the exhibition is was clear he's much improved.

I think he will be fine when we need him. It's just exhibition right now. Once we get to the meaningful games I expect him to be back.

yeah I guess I have concern over it being a lingering injury. I sure hope that's not the case.

A chronic back problem is not good and with his style of play there is no way to hide it, major concern, but we are as deep as we have been since …? So all is not lost.

Think about this:

Jordan Morgan was our starting C his freshman year.
Jordan Morgan was our starting C his sophomore year. Michigan won the Big Ten.
Jordan Morgan was our starting C his junior year. Michigan made the NC game.
Jordan Morgan is a 2nd or 3rd string C his senior year.

Depth is nice.

Who do you have him behind? I assume Mitch. Are you putting him behind Horford as well?

I think Morgan and Horford will be seeing equal amounts of playing time depending on the match-up. Morgan more some nights, Horford more other nights.

It would be nice for Horford to stay healthy and take the step forward. I like his game and think he could really help us out.
