2013 and 2014 State of Michigan Big Men

Looks like we may need to go out of state next year for our beef. 2014 looks like a strong crop though. Anyone know how we lost Elmer to ND?? In our current state of stockpiling linemen it would be nice if we could keep him in state.

I do know that David Dawson from Detroit Cass Tech who just moved back from Houston is a top priority @ OT..He is already 6-5 and 300 and has a VERY impressive offer list...I have heard MSU is DESPERATLY trying to "get into" the Cass Tech pipeline and would love nothing more than to "steal" this kid..Dawson can play guard or tackle...

The size of these kids coming out of HS is unreal. It used to be that kids would have to sit out a year and put on some lbs to play D1 ball. Not the case anymore. Hell I think some of the guys Michigan picked up may actually have to lose some lbs.

My dad was an All-American and he said that in high school if a kid was over 200 lbs he was a freak...not running backs are small if they are under 200...i wonder what another 20 years from now will be like

I can't imagine they can get much bigger since you still want them to be able to move. Then again you have 250lb. LB's running a 4.5. Still I can't imagine them getting much bigger.

There are some pretty good linemen in state for 2013. Cass Tech's line is going to average 275-280. The offers for Linemen will probably heat up with the summer camps. It's funny to me that RR did not recruit MI much when he was here, but gave an early offer to Lineman Derek Edwards from CC, and has been in contact with several other kids in state.

Hmmm..that is interesting. Perhaps he was not comfortable recruiting in state until later in his tenure at U of M. Now he is using some of his new contacts to land a coupe of key people.

Well considering he has assembled most of his staff back together, I guess it's not that surprising.

He also was offered by West Virginia yesterday. I don't have a premium membership anywhere, but I can tell you after the big man camp that was held in Wixom Sunday, his stock is going up, hence the 2 additional offers yesterday. with a year of experience in Texas high school football, he may end up being the best lineman prospect in the State when it is all said and done, although I heard Elmer did look good at the camp. My fear is that it ends up like another Joe Barksdale situation, where because he is at Cass Tech, UM thinks they will just nab him, and he ends up heading to the SEC.

Wasn't Barksdale during The Clod's tenure? If so, that's understandable.

No Barksdale was in the class of 2007. LC's last class.

Oh, not sure then. Unless somehow Barksdale caught wind of Lloyd leaving ahead of time? Or possibly Burksdale was just trying to be the kid who revolted, or the hand-$hakes down there were too much to pass up?
