| This is what dropping that stupid (in my opinion at least) annual game with ND gets you. Watch for other high profile match ups to be set up. Total win for UM. | |

yep, not sure if it was you or not but someone on here definitely mentioned that a few weeks ago when the news came out that ND was dropping us. _________________ Sometimes people standing on third base think they hit a triple, but they didn't - Jim Harbaugh

| Texas may or may not be a top team when we play them (would bet that they will be), ditto the other teams but ND was always going to be the team 2 hours away who was 1-2 in all time wins and winning percentage. The ND games were still interesting even when one of us stunk. I will miss the rivalry.

| Have always hated notre shame and their hypocritical holier than thou standards .... I for one have always wanted to see USC or Oklahoma, Bama, Texas, etc. over the years... the one thing the notre shame contract prevented was getting marquee games such as these | |

That is the risk you take when it is years away till you play. We can look at great (at the time) matchups that fizzled out once they met. Every team has had them. But what you do get when scheduling a Texas, Oklahoma, FSU (until recently not very dominant) etc, is playing a known commodity. The name is worth points, regardless of the current record. Look at PSU. That is still a great OOC game for other teams, so is UM, so was USC for the past few years. Sure, there are the current darlings of the day, but if you schedule the traditional powers, it will pay off no matter what the record is. Nebraska playing Miami is a prime example. Miami is not doing well, but beating them still is better than beating Oklahoma State in the long run. | |
