| The season is, essentially, in the dumpster, so why not medical red shirt Peppers and give him a chance for four full seasons? Of course, that assumes he would not be an early leave. | |

| Agree about rs... but unless he doesn't develop as a stud corner like everyone assumes, he is not coming back after year 3 | |

| In order to APPLY for a medical redshirt you need to pretty much prove that the guy can't play at all the rest of the year. You can't just hold him out.
Plus, you can only APPLY and the NCAA has to approve it.
So, it can be done but is far from a lam dunk. _________________ "What the HELL's going on out here?"

| lol ... after Gardner got his rs for his supposed back problem his Fr year, when everyone doubted it , Peppers will easily get one as it is evident that he is injured ... there is no reason not to play him as he is at worst our second best CB already | |

| Cant't get excited about a Peppers red shirt:
1) If he's the player we think he is, he won't stay past his junior year,
2) Still worried about a transfer depending upon how our season plays out.

| My understanding he has a severe bruise to his knee. Taking longer than expected to heal. | |

| wshoes, the severe bone bruise to the knee cap caused a small bone to chip either from the knee cap itself or the end of the femur.
Ice, anti-inflammatory meds., therapy to strengthen the area around the knee. Wear a knee brace & possibly return depending on pain tolerance. Can take weeks up to month to heal, maybe longer. Arthroscopic surgery is also an option.
If not healed say by Nov. 1st game vs Indiana, surgery might be an option. That's of course up to the M docs to know what's best. | |

What makes you say that? I think because if he does RS he should have his degree after three playing years and if he gets a high round draft grade then he would bolt. So I tend to agree with BO here. _________________ Sometimes people standing on third base think they hit a triple, but they didn't - Jim Harbaugh
