I think the long term goal is to have him play the 5 position. He's way too frail to be above average there now, but all three guys we've got offer something different.
-Donnal has the most refined offensive skills, but is a bit of a tweener. His game is like Frank Kaminsky-lite. Very lite. I can still see him scoring 8-10 PPG, but being a liability defensively.
-Doyle is a plodder. He's got the most mass of the three which should translate to better defense/rebounding, so let's hope it does.
-Wilson is a shotblocker PF/C. His skills aren't refined enough to be a good PF yet, and he's too small to be a good C.
I think Wilson could be very solid once he puts on more weight. Our strength and conditioning program is no joke, so this shouldn't be an issue. Take a look at these transformations:
Jon Horford came to Michigan at 210. By Sophomore season he was 250.
Tim Hardaway Jr. came to Michigan at 185. By Sophomore season he was 205.
Trey Burke came to Michigan at 170. By Sophomore season he was 190.
Max Bielfeldt came to Michigan at 220. By Sophomore season he was 245.
Glenn Robinsin III came to Michigan at 200. By Sophomore season he was 220.
Nik Stauskas came to Michigan at 190. By Sophomore season he was 205.
Caris LeVert came to Michigan at 170. By Sophomore season he was 185.
Mark Donnal came to Michigan at 210. By Sophomore season he was 240.
