Irvin's stat jump Empty
PostSubject: Irvin's stat jump   Irvin's stat jump EmptyFri Nov 21, 2014 12:56 pm

I know it's early but I noticed this while looking over Irvin's numbers and thought I'd post it.

in the 2013-2014 season Irvin hit 62 of 146 3Ps for a 42.5% rate. I believe that was second on the team behind Nik's 92 of 208 3Ps for a 44.2% rate. Zak also averaged 6.7 PPG last year.

Again, I know it's early but Zak has made 11 of 21 3Ps for a 52.4% rate and he's averaging 20.6 PPG.

We knew he would be one of the guys called on to step up his game with the departures from last year. So far I think he's answered the call nicely.

Also, I want to point out that last night, in a tight game, I saw twice where UM was trying to push the ball, Zak got the ball and for whatever reason, bad angle, defended tight, etc. he chose to walk the ball back, slow it down and let the play setup. Last year he would have pulled the trigger and shot. I liked when I saw that from him last night.

He missed an alley-oop dunk in the 2nd game and I joked with my friend "he should have pulled that out for 3 instead". The guy is shooting lights out this year, but I would expect that 3pt % to drop down to the low 40s (which is still phenomenal).

Good observations for sure.
