I've been thinking the same thing myself. In tennis, when an ATP pro hits a shot so clumsily as to look amateur, we call it "a Hacker's volley" (or overhead, or forehand, etc.).
I'm not sure what the hoops equivalent is, but Shurna definitely has a "hacker's stroke". Doesn't come anywhere NEAR to the traditional
"balance the ball against the side of one palm, 'push' it with the other
hand's fingertips"
motion. As Fish says, JS just seems to "shove" it forward with both hands
behind it.
Go figure. But somehow, it works (enough of the time).
