I would hate seeing sparty go to the Rose two years in a row, and that prediction (sparty v. Oregon) would be a re-match from week 2. I don't see it happening. I think that Wisconsin would go before sparty in that scenario, I mean they at least went to the B1G Chmpionship game....

Sparty was in Cotton Bowl this year.

Never to many bowl games. I would like more. I wouldn't mind teams with losing records making bowl games. I try to watch at least part of every one of them.

Well fish, get ready to be happy! The first three bowl game after the NC game in the list in my post are new...Arizona, Austin and Cure....makes for a total of 42 now!! There were 14 teams with 6 wins in bowl games last year. That number will go up this year!! Personally, I feel 32 is probably the right number, but money is money (NCAA!!!!)

I think their should be 12. You have to rank in the top 25, and the 25th ranked team is SOL and wins the pot-licker-trophy.

Seriously though, 84 teams making a bowl game is kinda ridiculous. The teams that actually miss a bowl game should feel like shit.

I think 12-14 are plenty but as long as TV is willing to pay up for the programming, they aren't going away.

And as long as there are people like me, who enjoy watching them on TV, then TV will be willing to pay for the programming and willing to except advertising money.

Wow, it's all about money. They keep adding more games to the Tournament, they keep adding Bowl games. It's a simple concept people...

Again, the NCAA Basketball postseason is far different than the NCAA Football postseason.


The NCAA Basketball tournament expanded to 64 teams in 1985. The only "added games" to the tournament have been 4 play in games. The field is now considered to be 68 instead of 64. In 20 years, there has been four added teams to the NCAA Tournament. That's far different than the surplus of NCAA Football bowl games.

The football bowl concept is getting way out of control. As to that, who gives a fuck what somebody thinks match-ups might be for bowl games in a season that is months from even beginning? I'd sooner hear news about what Harbaugh had for breakfast on any given day.
